Welcome to my little home in the 'hood! It's nothing fancy, but it's a cozy little place and it keeps us safe and warm. It's also what's allowing us to build our next home. (Equity is our friend!)So c'mon in! The tour will be a little short, because I have to leave for work in about 20 minutes and the puppy will still need to go out, but feel free to linger as long as you want! If you want to see more homes on the tour, go see BooMama. There's a list of participants at the end of her post today. First stop - my front door.

***Question for any seasoned Thursday 13ers out there: Does anyone know if there's a rule for doing your own graphic for these? Are 13ers required to use the provided graphics? I don't want to anger any T13 gods or anything...not that I cater to any gods other than, well, God...anyway, just answer the question if you know the answer...in my comments...please...Thanks!***
Update: Thanks Leanne for the answer! Time to have some graphic header fun!

| Thirteen Things That Have Kept Me From Blogging Lately
1. Helping the Fish and Fishwife build their dome home!
2. Working out a budget for our own dome home building project.
3. Being distracted by appliance lust when looking for prices on refrigerators, ranges, washers, dryers, etc.
4. Meeting with a designer to choose kitchen cabinets for our new home.
5. Chasing one untrained, naughty, spazzy, happy, sweet, adorable puppy now residing in our household.
6. Washing seemingly endless piles of laundry, soiled by a cute, not-so-little puppy who keeps peeing on blankets and rugs.
7. Sitting outside in my lawn chair keeping Raz company while she plays herself silly.
8. Cleaning up pee and poo left behind on my kitchen floor as a consequence of not jumping at the slightest whimper indicating puppy's need to go outside.
9. Updating a website for my very talented friend Mark David Williams. (You should really check out his site. Seriously, he's good!)
10. Trying to finish reading The Narnian for my Summer Reading Challenge list. This book is only 342 pages, but golly it seems a lot longer than that!
11. Meeting with friends, one of whom is visiting from out-of-state, one of whom will soon be moving out-of-state. :-(
12. Working on secret blog-related projects.
13. Coming up with 13 things for this, my very first Thursday 13 ever!

She's been home for almost 2 weeks now and she's completely taken over our lives. I never realized how little I knew about puppies until now. Raz and I, we're learning together – myself, about how to love and raise a puppy – Raz, about how to live with and be loved by people.
Click the pic for a bigger view.There's nothing quite so cute as a puppy in the garden.There's also nothing quite so difficult as getting the puppy out of the garden.

Why do they call it the "dog days of summer", when it's too hot for even the dog to want to go outside?

I came across this when visiting Jeana today. BooMama is putting on a Tour of Homes for all of us bloggers. Sounds like fun, huh?
She's giving us 2 weeks to come up with our pics. Seems do-able enough, and and a "gimme" post too! With the way I've been going here, I could use some of those!

 - Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord:
- He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
- He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword:
- His truth is marching on.
-
- Glory, glory, hallelujah!
- Glory, glory, hallelujah!
- Glory, glory, hallelujah!
- His truth is marching on
- I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps,
- They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
- I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps:
- His day is marching on.
-
- Chorus
- I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel:
- "As ye deal with my condemners, so with you my grace shall deal;
- Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with His heel,
- Since God is marching on."
-
- Chorus
- He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
- He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat:
- Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet!
- Our God is marching on.
-
- Chorus
- In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
- With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
- As He died to make men holy, let us live to make men free,
- While God is marching on.
-
- Chorus
- He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,
- He is wisdom to the mighty, He is succour to the brave,
- So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of Time His slave,
- Our God is marching on.
-
- Glory, glory, hallelujah!
- Glory, glory, hallelujah!
- Glory, glory, hallelujah!
- His truth is marching on
